Carleton University Debating Society Winter Kick off

We recommend Firefox if you encounter problems To kick off the new semester, it is our pleasure to inform you that SHOUT (Students Helping Others Understand Tolerance) and the Carleton University Debate Society are partnering to bring you a debate, a brief lecture, and and a discussion about whether states should unilaterally intervene in the affairs of other states in order to protect human rights (with a specific focus on Darfur). The lecture will be given by Prof Penny, a noted expert on international law and on the international legal regulation of the use of force. It will be at 7:00 in Tory 240 on Thursday, January 10. On January 12th, we also are Introducing people to another style of Debate, Canadian Parliamentary Style- check back here later today for the time and location. From January 25-27th, Carleton will be hosting the North american Debate Championships- check out the northams website- www.carleton.ca/cudb for more information. Finally, we have new meeting places, St. Patricks 417 Wednsday @ 7, and Tory 238, Friday @ 3:30. Hope to see you in the new Semester!
